A visit to the lake city – Thane



Thane is a city in Indian state of Maharashtra and it is popularly known as the lake city because, the city houses more than 30 lakes that is almost in every area. This city is also known because the first train in India rolled out from Boribandar to Thane and this marked the dawn of Railway age in Asia. Thane comes under Mumbai Metropolitan region and has a predominant maharashtrian culture and has a cosmopolitan nature as well.
Thane is one of the popular tourist’s destinations as the city houses many numbers of lakes and tourists attractions that attracts tourists from all over the country.  Besides the numerous lakes, the other places to visit in and around Thane include Yeoor hills, Tikuji-ni-wadi, Essel World, Bassein Fort, Titwada Ganesh Mandir, Ambarnath, Sudhagad fort and many more. Once you enter in the city, you can find numbers of places that are worth to visit. Thane is also considered as the suburban part of Mumbai city and therefore it is one of the important regions in Mumbai and in the entire country.

Tourists Destinations in Thane
·         Bhiwandi – Bhiwandi is a popular tourist’s attraction offered by Thane which is known for its textile industry and products like handlooms, carpets and silk fabrics.
·        Ganeshpuri- Ganeshpuri is a desination situated in the vicinity of Thane which is famous for Gurudev Sidha Pith which houses the Samadhi of Bhagwan Nityananda which also has the natural hot springs.
·        Kelva Beach – This is one of the largest beaches in Maharashtra stretched along 7 km of the coastline of Arabian Sea. This beach is one o f the popular and most visited in Thane also has the Kelva fort and Shitladevi temple.
·         Thane Creek – This is a bird conservation site in India which is home to over 205 species of birds. This creel is visited by numbers of tourists.
As I have said that Thane is known as Lake City there are number of lakes to visit and in Thane lakes are the best places to hangout. The city is well connected by all the transportation mediums by road, by rail and by air. For accommodation, there are numbers of hotels and lodges available. In Thane you can get hotels in every region as this suburb is divided into east and west you can stay in east thane and west thane.
