This temple is dedicated to Indian Guru Shri Sai Baba who devoted his entire life of 60 years for helping poor and needy peoples. Shirdi temple is located in Ahmadnagar district of Indian state of Maharashtra which is about 80 km from Ahmadnagar and 14 km from Kopergaon.
This town is very popular throughout the country because of Sai who was a great Saint in his time as he performed many miracles to help villagers. The best time to visit this temple is in the months of September to November as in these months many Hindu festivals are celebrated and Baba’s death anniversary is also celebrated in the month of October. But in these months most of the devotees visit this temple and that is why the entire village becomes crowded. For Darshan of Sai that is in the temple which is the main attraction in Shirdi. This temple houses Samadhi of Sai on which the temple is built. The entrĂ©e in the temple and the Darshan is free of cost but because millions of devotees visit this temple during peak seasons then from Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust we can but special Darshan passes which costs 100 rupees per devotee. Most of the devotees prefer to buy these passes instead of waiting in a queue that averages over an hour on weekends and on holidays. That is why devotees prefer to book passes so that they can take Darshan of Sai comfortably. You can book these passes from the website of Sai Sansthan or you can book it after reaching to the temple. The ticket is of 100 rupees and I think the cost increases now I am not sure but I think it is increased.

Recently I heard that government took action on this system of Special Darshan because of this normal devotees stand in a queue for hours and hours. It is actually injustice with them because for taking Darshan of God one should not cost money because every ones time is precious for them and one should treat all people equally. In the premises of the temple, there are number of hotels and lodges available so that the devotees reach at the time of Arati and Puja. Most of the tourists prefer hotels in Shirdi near temple.
