Dadar is an area of Mumbai city, Maharashtra. This region is popular for Railway Station as Dadar Railway Station which is on both Western and Central Railway lines of Mumbai Suburban Railway Network. This region of Mumbai city is situated in the heart of the city and Dadar Railway Station is one of the most crowded railway station in Mumbai because this station is common to both Central as well as Western Railway Lines and for most of the passengers using railway line this station is the transit point.
Earlier in the 16th century this region was known as lower Mahim area because it is situated on the Island of Mahim which is one of the seven Islands of Bombay. This region has been always an important part of Mumbai and cultural centre for Maharashtra’s Marathi speaking population as well as for the people from other parts of the country. Dadar is divided into two parts as Dadar West and Dadar East, Dadar East is commonly known as Dadar Central or Dadar T.T because Dadar tram terminus is located in this area and Dadar West is known as Dadar B.B as it lies along the western line which is a part of Baroda and Bombay. · Siddhivinayak Temple – This Siddhivinayak Ganpati Temple is located in the heart of Mumbai in Prabhadevi ,Dadar dedicated to the Hindu Lord Ganesha which was built on November 1801. This temple developed from small place of worship to huge temple stands today. This temple is popularly known as Navasacha Ganpati among the devotees which means if you genuinely ask for something to this god, he will fulfill all your wishes.
· Portuguese Church – Church of Our Lady of Salvation is located in Mumbai which is commonly known as Portuguese Church and in Dadar region of Mumbai. This church was built by Portuguese Franciscans called Nossa Senhora de Salvacao in 1596. This is a familiar Dadar Landmark.
· Kabutar Khana – It is one of the important and oldest landmarks of Mumbai, this place is leisure for senior citizens to feed pigeons. Kabutar Khana means pigeon-feeding place. The place is originally 70 years and more old feeding continuously thousands of pigeons regularly. The view of thousands of pigeons at time same time is very beautiful.
· Shivaji Park – This Park is situated in Dadar area of Mumbai which is Mumbai’s largest park. This park is of historical and social and cultural values as it has witnessed many political and social gatherings. The grand statue of Shivaji Maharaj is one of the very few statues in which he is depicted without having drowned out sword.
· Dadr Chupaty Beach – Dadar beach is as the name tells is situated in Dadar region of Mumbai city. This beach is notthat much popular but if you want a calm place in the city then Dadar beach is very useful. This beach is not having a single stalls and shops this is used for jogging and walking purpose only.

As Dadar is one of the important parts of Mumbai city hence for trans portability there are many options available. Dadar Railway station is the largest and most crowded railway station in Mumbai. It is connected to almost all parts of the Mumbai city. Most of the people in Mumbai prefer locals trains because of its availability and low prices as compared to the taxis and auto rikshaws. And traffic jams is the major problem in Mumbai therefore most of the people avoid travelling by taxis and cabs. Buses runs by Maharashtra Government are well connected to all parts of the Mumbai city and most parts of the state also. But as I have mentioned that traffic jam is one of the major problems in Mumbai trains are advisable to travel in the city.
