Nagpur, the winter capital of Maharashtra state is a third largest city in the state. The city is ranked as the cleanest and greenest city of the state. It is one of the fastest growing cities and also major hub of commercial and political centre of Vidarbha and this city is having a seat of winter session of Maharashtra state assembly that is Vidhan Sabha. Nagpur city is famous in the whole country as Orange City as it is the major trade centre of Oranges.
The Orange city was founded by Gonds and later it was became the part of Maratha Empire which was under Bhonsale’s. The city is very famous among tourists having lot of landmarks and tourists attractions. The city connects many Tiger Reserves in India and that is why it is recently recorded as Tiger Capital of India and Zero Mile, the centre of India is situated in this state.  

Landmarks of Nagpur

·         Dhamma Chakra Stupa(Dikshbhumi) – This place is an important religious place of Buddhist people which is also known as Dikshabhumi. This stupa is one of the architectural excellence and worth seeing due to its architechtural beauty. Thousand of Buddhist people visit this place every year on Ashok Vijaya Dashami, on this day Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar intiated the conversion of thousands of Dalit people to Buddhism.

·         Futala Lake – Earlier, back to centuries, this lake was built by Raje Bhonsale which is the best hangput place in Nagpur. This lake is very famous in Nagpur, it is known for its charming atmosphere and colorful fountains. This relaxing place attracts hundreds of locals and tourists every day.
·         Ramtek Fort Temple – This place is very famous in Nagpur and is assumed to be one of the sacred places because it is said that in this place Lord Rama took rest before leaving conquer to Lanka. This fort is cool and very tranquil away from the crowds of the city.

·         Bohra masjid – This is one of the religious places in Itwari, Nagpur. It is an architecturally constructed beautiful mosque which attracts many Islam believers and witnesses’ huge crowds during special days for prayers.
There are many more places to visit in Nagpur. In this city you can find number of people out of Maharashtra state. It is fast developing city and currently the city is working on the project of MIHAN which is going to be the technology hub of Nagpur and hope it will be successful to become IT capital of India. Because of this project number of tourists and investors visit Nagpur.

Transport facility 

·         By Bus- Morbhavan  is the bus stand from where you can catch buses to travel within the city and Nagpur Bus Stand is the main bus stand in Nagpur from where buses throughout the state are available. Private buses are also available to and from the city.
·         By Train – Nagpur Railway station is one of the largest railway stations in the state and total 180 train’s from various destinations stops at Nagpur. This terminal is well connected to the all parts of the country.
·         By Air – Nagpur’s Airport is one of the busiest airports in India having more than 300 flights flying over the city. Multi Modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur is under construction which will be used for handling cargo coming from south east and Middle East Asia.

Nagpur is always in the list of tourists and one of the major attractions in country as the centre of the city. There are number accommodation facilities available in the city.
