After India started revolution of IT with Bangalore as key IT hub, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh released the need for infrastructure to attract number of IT companies for investment and the project of HITEC City was started with private investments. The city is spread over 151 acres of land with best facilities and amenities and enabling hassle free operations.

Cyber Gateway is designed for ITES and BPO services. Dell Inc., General Electric, Capitol Records, Lanco Global Systems and Microsoft, these are the companies which started Cyber Gateways. It is followed by Dell, Virtusa, Vertex Computer System, Mahindra Satyam and others later.
· Mindspace IT Park- The new philosophy of working and living is envisioned by Raheja Group, which conceived to make corporate feel like home even when they are working. The Mindspace includes residential, recreational, entertainment and retail spaces. The companies such as IBM, Accenture, CSC, Bank of America, Facebook, Novartis are situated here with thousands of employees are working in this place. The park also has the popular Westin and the Inorbit mall.
· The V, Ascendas IT Park- The V is composed of five buildings namely, Mariner, Auriga, Orion, Capella and Vega. The V is spread across 20 acres of land and with over 10 acres of open space. It is Green Township with environmentally friendly landscape gardens. The V is the first fully operational park with over 15000 IT professionals. The V, is about 10 KM from the city center and 14 KM from airport and the nearest local train station is about 3 KM from the park.

Hyderabad Airport is about 14 to 16 KM away from HITEC City and the nearest railway station is also 3 to 6 KM distance away. Transportation was one of the major problems in this area but, today the problem is almost resolved.
HITEC City is very important project of the state due to which today Hyderabad is in developed cities of the country. It is now in the competition of major technology towns of the country.
