Borivali, suburb of Gardens



Borivali is a suburban area located in the north-west section of Mumbai island of Indian state of Maharashtra. This suburb is one of the major suburbs of Mumbai famed as the suburb of gardens as having lovely gardens in every block.
This region was once used to be small villages called Eksar, Poisar, Kandivali, Shimpoli, Mandapeshwar, Kimpoli and many more. But today the region is developed and named as Borivali having all the amenities such as hospitals, schools, colleges, shopping malls, good restaurants, lovely cafes and every facility. Borivali consists of many landmarks and it is one of the place tourists prefer to stay there are many tourists destination near to this region and popular for providing excellent accommodation facility.

Tourists Destinations near Borivali

·         Sanjay Gandhi National Park – The part is located on the east section of Borivali. This park is having few leopards, lions and panthers. The park is near Western Express Highways NH8.
·         Mandapeshwar Caves – Mandapeshwar caves are situated in the west region of Borivali which is an 8th century rock-cut shrine dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva. The caves have sculptures of Nataraja, Sadashiva and splendid sculpture of Arshnarishwara.

·        Bassein Fort – This fort is also known as Vasai fort as the fort is located in Vasai village. The fort is very beautiful and used for many film shootings. Though some parts of this fort are now in ruin but still the three chapels inside the fort are recognizable.
·         Gorai Creek – This is located on the western coast of Borivali which is a famous crossover point for Essel World, Water Kingdom and Global Pagoda.
·         Veer Sawarkar Udyan – This is a garden located on Lokmanya Tilak Road which is an idle place have facilities like jogging track, boating area, kids play garden, skating area and many more.

Transportation to Borivali

Borivali  is well connected to the rest parts of the city by all the transportation mediums and public transport mediums are easily available to reach to this area. There are many buses available to and from Borivali and you can also take taxis or auto rikshwaws. Local trains are very popular in Mumbai and it is the most preferred transportation medium to reach this region.
