Pune, the prestigious city of Maharashtra



Pune, the cultural capital of India is the second largest city in Indian state of Maharashtra. This city is known for its high educational facilities and relative prospective. As the city is known as cultural capital, many cultural activities take place here such as classical music, spirituality, theatre, sports and literature.
This city has a glorious history of nearly 1600 years. The large student population of the city makes a lively nightlife and vibrant atmosphere. Pune is also called as the Oxford of the East as the city is famous for education standard and facilities. The city is one of the best tourist’s locations as there are number of tourist’s attractions that attract many tourists.

Tourists Destinations in Pune

·         Shaniwar Wada – The palace was built by successors of Shivaji. This palace was burned and destroyed in 1827 in which most of the interiors also got destroyed. The palace is believed to be one of the haunted places in India.

·         Aga Khan Palace – This is a historical landmark of the city which is gracious building having Italian arches, salons, suited and spacious lawns. This palace is full of tranquility and solace visited by number of tourists every year.
·         Sinhagad – This is a fort nearby Pune city, a beautiful place to visit. This fort is also an historic place in King Shivaji’s era which is one of the best destinations of tourists.

·         Bund Garden – This garden is also known as Mahatma Gandhi Udyan , a popular tourists destination. The main attraction of this garden is evening’s boat rides, horse rides and also for Indian chat.
Pune is having many more places to explore and see such as parvati Hill temple, pataleshwar caves, Raja Dinkar kelkar Museum and more.

Pune is connected to all the parts of the country via all the transportation mediums such as air, road and rail.
By Air - Pune airport is an international airport at Lohegaon that connects this city with the rest parts of the country and the major cities of the world.
By Rail – Local trains are very popular in Pune city that connects all parts of the city with each other and Pune Railway station connects the city with the rest parts of the country.
By Road – In Pune, both public and private transport are popular. Buses run by PMPML are connected to each and every part of the city with each other and number of buses is available here. Taxis and auto rikshaws are also available for within the city.
