Secunderabad, Twin city of Hyderabad

Secunderabad is located in Indian state of Andhra Pradesh which is popularly known as the twin City of Hyderabad. The city is named after the third Nizam of Asaf Jahi Dynasty, Sikandar Jah. Although Secunderabad and Hyderabad both are called twin cities but both are having different history and different culture as Secunderabad developed under British rule and Hyderabad was the capital of Nizam’s dynasty. These twin cities are geographically separated by Hussain Sagar Lake but today, Secunderabad is no longer separate municipal and it has become the part of Hyderabad city which is collectively known as Hyderabad, one of the largest metropolises in India.

The culture and religion of Secunderabad is mixed that is various groups of people come to this state from various major state of India and Christians have stronger presence here having number of popular churches. ·         Trimulgherry Fort – This fort was built in 1867 which hwas used to house barracks, mews, stables, arsenals mess houses and military offices. Today, this fort has been transformed into a military hospital.

·         Trinity Church – Trinity church was built in Gothic style of architecture also known as Holy Trinity Church. It was built as a house of worship for the British in Secunderabad. This church considered as one of the best churches in Asia.

·         Rashtrapati Nilayam – Rashtrapati Nilayam is the only official retreat in South of India and it is considered by the Heritage Conservation Committee for a heritage tag because of its 150 years of History.

In twin cities this railway station is one of the largest and oldest station popularly known as Secunderabad Railway Station. Secunderabad is also a major hub for city bus transport run by APSRTC.
