Delhi, the capital of India is one of the most historic capitals in the world. Delhi city is located on the banks of Yamuna River in northern India which is the second most populous city of the country. The city has served as a capital of many kingdoms which is today known as a major commercial, political and cultural city along the trade routes between northwest India.
Delhi’s culture has been influenced by lengthy history and historic association as the capital of the country. In this city, there are so many places that are popular and that attract tourists such as, Akshardham Temple, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Lotus Temple, Purana Kila, Jama Masjid, Mughal Garden, India Gate, ISKON Temple and many more. Chandani Chauk is one of the most popular shopping areas in Delhi for jewelry, zari sarees, and arts and crafts. Many tourists visiting Delhi must visit this market because there are so many shops and places that are popular and best known throughout the country.

Tourist’s attractions in Delhi

·         Akshardham Temple - This temple is very old and epitomizes 10,000 years of Indian culture that brilliantly showcases the essence of India’s ancient architecture, tradition and timeless spiritual messages. The temple is visited by number of tourists every ear.

·         India Gate – This is the national monument of India situated in the heart of Delhi city. This predominant landmark in Delhi commemorates the 90000 soldiers who lost their lives in World War I.
·         Lotus Temple – The lotus temple is located in New Delhi which is a Baha’s house of worship. This temple is notable for its flower like structure which serves as a mother temple of Indian continent.

·        Gurudwara Bangla Sahib – This gurudwara is one of the most visited, prominent and largest gurudwara in India. This is the house of worship of Sikh people that marks the place where eighth Sikh Guru lived.
·         Qutub Minar – It is a fluted red sandstone tower covered with intricate carvings. The Qutub Minar is significant for what it represents in its history of Indian culture. This is a well known place for tourists and is a world heritage site.

Transportation in Delhi

Indira Gandhi International Airport which is situated in Southwest of Delhi is connected to many major cities of the world and India. You can take taxis or auto rikshaws for travelling within the city. Delhi is a major junction in the Indian railway junction. In Delhi, there are five main railway stations and Delhi metro rail is also major public transportation medium. By road, one can travel by public buses and privates buses are also available for transportation within the city and for reaching to the nearby cities.

Delhi, the capital of India is a major halt for number of tourists and there are many tourists’ destinations. Delhi is having number of hotels and lodges but in this city beware about frauds and cheatings because many hotels shows facility but in reality they do not provide any of them. Hotels in Delhi range from budget to five star and many luxury hotels in Delhi are world famous. Most of the tourists prefer to stay near Delhi railway station and airport. These areas are having number of hotels that provides excellent facility and services.
